Scientists have a gas reducing methane emissions from cows

GreenShed, a newly launched project run by Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) aims to capture methane emissions produced by cattle and create a fully energy-efficient environment for the cattle, using this to contribute to the UK’s net-zero goals.

 For the past four years, led by SRUC beef and sheep specialist Professor Carol-Anne Duthie, the research farm at Easter Howgate has been developing technology which not only traps excess methane emissions but creates a fully energy efficient environment for the cattle.
